Niagara County sheriff's deputies arrested a North Tonawanda man recently after the suspect had earlier eluded NT police following a high-speed chase.
North Tonawanda officers called the chase off early on Feb. 8 for safety reasons, but deputies then located the suspect traveling on Upper Mountain Road, and stopped his vehicle at Junction Road. They said the driver had been operating erratically and was found to have a revoked driver's license.
Russell E. Garnett, 41, of Oliver Street, also had several thousand dollars in cash on his person, deputies said. He was charged with a felony count of second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, as well as other vehicle and traffic infractions, and was then turned over to North Tonawanda police to face additional charges, according to the Sheriff's Office.
