BOSTON – Buffalo Sabres forward Jack Eichel left the game against the Boston Bruins in TD Garden with 6:52 left in the first period.
Eichel went behind the net to play the puck, but his right leg folded awkwardly underneath him as Matt Grzelcyk closed in. Eichel could not put weight on his right leg as he skated off into the dressing room.

He did not return to the game.
Coach Phil Housley said afterward that Eichel got "tangled up in the corner, but we'll know more (Sunday) when he see our doctors."
Asked if the injury could be serious, Housley said, "I don't know ... We'll have to re-evaluate it (Sunday)."
Eichel missed the start of last season after suffering an injury to his left ankle in the final practice of the preseason.
