Miami Beach Police announced Thursday they have made an arrest in the shooting death of a Williamsville East High School graduate.
Jeremiah G. Dorvilus, 31, is accused of being the driver of a vehicle used in the fatal shooting of 29-year-old Kamil Patel, Miami Beach Police said. Dorvilus, who has no permanent address, has been charged with first-degree murder, police said.
Dorvilus was arrested at about 10:45 p.m. Wednesday in Miami, according to a police report.
Police also announced they are looking for the suspect who they believe fired the shots that killed Patel.
Tyrone Jackson, 32, is considered armed and dangerous, police said.
Jackson is described as 5-foot-7 weighing between 130 and 140 pounds and walks with a severe limp with his right leg. He also has a large scar due to a gunshot wound, police said.
Patel, who graduated from Williamsville East in 2006, was shot the night of Jan. 25 while walking with his girlfriend on the way to a karaoke bar. Patel's girlfriend, Katy Park, credited him with saving her life.
Patel was shot twice in the upper torso. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
