Girl Scouts of Western New York, which includes Buffalo, Rochester and nine counties in the region, has opened registration for summer camp for girls from kindergarten through 12th grade. Girls do not have to be Girl Scout members to attend camp.
Girls will be able to acquire skills and develop an appreciation for nature through climbing, hiking, white-water rafting, horseback riding and other outdoor activities at four camps: Camp Timbercrest in Randolph, Camp Piperwood in Victor, Camp Windy Meadows in Lockport and Camp Seven Hills Goodyear in Holland. Camp sessions begin July 8 and continue through Aug. 10.
Day and overnight programs are available. Transportation and special accommodations, such as food restrictions, can be arranged. For information on programs, financial aid and registration, visit gswny.org.
