Niagara Falls Police charged a city man with various drug offenses Saturday morning after finding him asleep in the back seat of a car sitting atop a snowbank in the 900 block of North Avenue.
Officers said that Michael A. Howard, 31, was lying motionless in the rear seat of the vehicle when they came upon it around 6 a.m. They struggled to wake him, and reported he was "highly intoxicated" upon finally being roused from his slumber.
Police reported finding crack cocaine, pills and marijuana inside the vehicle, as well as $1,542 in cash inside the pocket of the driver's side door. The car was towed from the scene, the money was confiscated and Howard, of Grove Avenue, was jailed on charges of unlawful possession of marijuana and fifth- and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
