Man who called 911 sends officers away and is later stabbed

A man who called police shortly after noon on Saturday to say that his girlfriend was threatening him with a knife sent police away when they arrived but later showed up in a hospital emergency room with a stab wound to his arm.

Police said the man called from Mohr Street but refused to open the door to speak with officers when they arrived. Later in the day, he walked into the emergency department of Buffalo General Medical Center with a stab wound to the arm that had nicked an artery.

Police said he remained uncooperative despite his potentially serious injury. Police also said the pair have children and a long history of domestic violence complaints. They continue to investigate the incident.
