Gunman riddles Jeep with bullets; victim drives himself to ECMC

A Buffalo man was shot in the leg at 5:23 p.m. Saturday, but police were dealing with conflicting information about where the shooting occurred.

The victim told police he was sitting in his parked Jeep with his son and his cousin when a light-skinned black man wearing a black jacket and a black hoodie approached the vehicle on the passenger side, where the victim's cousin was sitting, and began firing. The gunman then ran to the driver's side and continued to shoot, and a round struck the driver in the calf.

The victim told police the attacker fled in a black car, either a Ford or a Mercury.

The 27-year-old victim then drove himself to ECMC. There he told police that he thought he had been parked in the vicinity of Towne Gardens Apartments on Clinton Street when the gunman approached; police also received information that the shooting may have happened on Sweeney Street off Genesee Street. They were examining both locations to try to determine where the shooting happened.
