Alden worker escapes serious injury from falling glass

A worker at an Alden manufacturer injured in an accident earlier this week suffered less serious injuries that initially believed.

A 27-year-old employee at Gamma North, 13595 Broadway, suffered bruising but no broken bones at about 2 p.m. Wednesday when pieces of glass weighing between 2,000 and 2,700 pounds fell off a rack, the company said.

The employee was taken to a hospital emergency room and released after about 2 1/2 hours, according to the company.
