Startup real estate brokerage opens new office

A 15-month-old real estate brokerage firm started by a Miami transplant is growing so rapidly that it's opening a new office on Main Street that is eight times the size of its former suite.

Own NY Real Estate, founded by Jody Desnoyers in November 2016, started with a small team but now has 12 agents, with three more slated to join in February. The firm, which completed more than 100 transactions last year, currently is located in a 150-square-foot office at 340 Harris Hill Road in Clarence, but is moving around the corner Thursday to a renovated 1,200-square-foot storefront location at 8623 Main, also in Clarence.

Desnoyers, who grew up in northeastern New York and went to Canisius College, moved to Buffalo to get school services and research for his son after living in Miami for 10 years. He previously helped build a national real estate "lead generation and technology" business called US Condo Exchange that operated and, and was also licensed as a brokerage in 30 states.
