A Cheektowaga man who used a sledgehammer and shovel to attack his former girlfriend, her father and her friend was found guilty Monday on attempted murder charges.
A jury convicted Mark Dublino, 54, on two counts of second-degree attempted murder, four counts of first-degree burglary, one count of aggravated criminal contempt and two counts of second-degree assault, according to the Erie County District Attorney's Office.
Prosecutors said that Dublino on June 6, 2016, violated an order of protection when he attacked his former girlfriend and her friend in her Williamsville home, striking each multiple times in the head with a sledgehammer. Then Dublino attacked his former girlfriend's father in his Amherst home with a shovel.
The victims are still recovering from their injuries.
Dublino is scheduled to be sentenced March 12 by State Supreme Court Justice Deborah A. Haendiges.
