“School Days,” a full-color tome detailing the role that Niagara Falls’ public education played in local history, has been published by Judie Glaser, community relations director for Niagara Falls schools.
Glaser was following up on the popularity of “School Bells Ring,” a historical overview published in 1991 by Patricia Wilson Rice. Glaser said people were calling with requests for the publication for years.
Glaser said she relied heavily on Board of Education minutes, historical media accounts, and conversations with people who attended the schools, as well as images from the Niagara Falls Library collection. The book was designed by Jim Higgins.
A limited number of free books are available at Central Office, 630 66th St., Niagara Falls.
