The University at Buffalo has found an interim replacement for recently departed athletic director Allen Greene, announcing Kathy Twist will take over duties until a long-term replacement is found. UB said in a press release that it will begin a nationwide search soon.
Twist, the former head coach for the Bulls' women's tennis team, has been UB's senior associate athletic director for sport administration and senior woman administrator since 2012. She served as the sports supervisor for men’s tennis, women’s soccer, men’s and women’s track and field, men’s and women’s cross country, women’s volleyball and softball. She was also in charge of gender equity, diversity and inclusion within UB Athletics.
"I am grateful to Kathy for her willingness to serve in this important role in an interim capacity, and I extend my thanks and appreciation to Allen and the entire Athletics Department for their continuing commitment to our university's vision of excellence," UB President Satish K. Tripathi said in the release.
Greene was introduced as the athletic director of Auburn University on Jan. 19. He served as UB’s athletic director for just over two years.
“Thanks in large part to Allen’s strong leadership, we are very well positioned to attract outstanding candidates in this national search,” Tripathi said.
