Power has been restored to more than 1,300 NYSEG customers in Elma who lost power Tuesday evening, while only 337 out of more than 6,300 affected customers in Clarence remain without power, according to a spokeswoman for the utility.
The power outages are all wind-related, said Rachel Buchanan, a NYSEG spokeswoman.
"Power in Elma was restored at 8:31 p.m. Clarence, right now, has 337 customers out," Buchanan said. "Power will be restored within the half hour."
Nearly 11,000 customers lost power Tuesday evening in the Buffalo suburbs of Clarence, Elma and Cheektowaga.
Power in Cheektowaga went out more recently, affecting more than 2,770 customers.
"It's all absolutely the result of high winds, which is brought some wires down in every one of these situations, actually," Buchanan said.
"It's all electrical power and all to be restored soon. It should be a quick repair. All of our crews are out there. They are very busy tonight," she said.
