A 21-year-old Buffalo man was shot Friday night in Buffalo, but where it happened is unclear, according to Buffalo police.
Officers responded to Buffalo General Medical Center shortly before 10 p.m. where they found a victim who had been shot in the stomach, according to a Buffalo police report. The victim was driven there in a private vehicle, police said.
The victim told officers he was shot near the intersection of Chippewa and Pearl streets, according to the report.
But detectives investigating the shooting found no credible evidence that confirms the shooting happened there, police spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge said. Investigators reviewed "video sources" in the area and spoke to witnesses, DeGeorge said in an email.
The victim was transferred by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center where he was treated and released, he said. The shooting remains under investigation.
