A free Diabetes Prevention Program begins Jan. 31 at the American Legion, 8643 Buffalo Ave., Niagara Falls.
The 16-week program is sponsored by the Niagara County Department of Health, in collaboration with Niagara County Office for the Aging.
Prediabetes is a serious health condition that can lead to diabetes, heart disease and stroke. A trained lifestyle coach will lead weekly sessions from 6 to 7 p.m. to help participants improve their food choices, be more active and learn coping skills to maintain weight loss.
