Four people were arrested following a brawl inside an apartment on Klinger Avenue in the City of Tonawanda early Sunday that left two police officers hurt, City of Tonawanda Police Capt. Fredric Foels said.
When police arrived at the apartment at about 3 a.m., they found several people fighting and furniture strewn about, Foels said.
During the melee, one officer was kicked in the head from behind and suffered injuries to his thumbs. A second officer hurt his back when he was pushed into a 52-inch flat screen TV, Foels said. Both were treated for their injuries and remained on duty.
Arrested were James D. Phillips, 24, of North Tonawanda for third-degree assault, resisting arrest and second-degree harassment; Ronald M. Kavanagh, 47, of North Tonawanda for resisting arrest; Austin T. Rizzo, 20, of the City of Tonawanda for obstructing government administration, resisting arrest and possession of marijuana; and Courtney I. Miles, 24, of the City of Tonawanda for third-degree assault, resisting arrest and second-degree harassment.
All four were held for a court appearance.
