A Buffalo man accused of shooting a man to death at a neighborhood party 2 1/2 years ago was arraigned Friday on a second-degree murder charge.
Cornelius Jones, 27, who was arrested in November, is charged with killing Dequawn Griggs, 21, of Buffalo on July 5, 2015, at a party on Montana Street.
Jones pleaded not guilty to murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon before State Supreme Court Justice John L. Michalski, who set bail at $125,000 cash or bond.
The shooting was investigated by Buffalo Homicide detectives Scott Malec and Mark White, as well as investigator Brian Ross of the State Attorney General’s Office. Assistant District Attorneys John Feroleto and Colin Fitzgerald are prosecuting the case.
