Drug dealer pleads guilty in fentanyl sales to undercover officers

A Buffalo drug dealer pleaded guilty Wednesday to selling more than 40 grams of fentanyl to undercover federal drug enforcement officers.

Michael Clark, 33, faces a minimum of five years to a maximum of 40 years in prison when he is sentenced April 30 before U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

On three occasions during March and April 2017, Clark sold suspected heroin to undercover officers with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. On two of those occasions, the suspected heroin contained fentanyl only and not heroin, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Wei Xiang.

During the three transactions, Xiang said, Clark distributed about 70 grams of powder containing fentanyl.
