Northtown Toyota received a green light Thursday from Amherst's Planning Board for its plan to expand a service building and update its facade in 2018.
The board voted, 4-0, to approve the site plan filed by Northtown Automotive Cos.
Northtown would reconfigure the floor plan in the service drive building at 1135 Millersport Highway and add 5,350 square feet of space to the north side of the dealership, improving traffic flow and making things easier for customers and employees.
Northtown also would update its exterior, part of an update Toyota is leading at dealerships nationwide.
The dealership received approval with some conditions – including that unloading vehicles take place only in the parking lot, not on Millersport.
The Zoning Board of Appeals must grant a variance for a new sign.
