Thomas Rhett's vault to country super-stardom is no better reflected than in his headlining role for the 2018 Taste of Country, the annual show hosted by 106.5 WYRK FM.
Scheduled for June 8 at Coca-Cola Field, Taste of Country will also feature Chris Janson, Scotty McCreery, Danielle Bradbery and local contest winner Kate Mallen. Tickets for the general public will go on sale Jan. 18 at Tickets.com here.
Rhett's most recent album, September's "Life Changes," debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 list, the first country production to rise to the top in 2017. His single "Marry Me" stands at No. 3 on Billboard.com's Hot Country Songs chart as of Jan. 15, with "Unforgettable" also denting the list at No. 14.
Janson followed his breakout 2015 album "Buy Me a Boat" with September's "Everybody," which fell a little shy of the former's Billboard rankings but still peaked at No. 7 on the U.S. country chart. In terms of Buffalo stops, Janson opened for Blake Shelton in then-KeyBank Center on St. Patrick's Day 2016, while he's also scheduled to perform in Fallsview Casino in February.
McCreery, just 24 years old, may be a familiar name considering his victory in the 10th season of "American Idol" (2011). The North Carolina native's next album, "Seasons Change," is expected to be released this year.
The winner of Season 4 of "The Voice," Bradbery evolved as an artist by co-writing her songs for "I Don't Believe We've Met," a November release that NPR discussed at length here. Considered throwback in style, Bradbery is blessed with a powerful voice. WYRK has more information on each musician at its website.
