Niagara University hosts events to honor Martin Luther King Jr.

Niagara University will present “Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Prayer and Reflection” at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Alumni Chapel, kicking off two weeks of events honoring the civil rights leader.

NU will screen “Marshall” at 7 p.m. Friday in Dunleavy Hall, Room 127. The movie about Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall was filmed in Buffalo.

The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Awards Ceremony and Reception is planned for 4 p.m. Jan. 25 in the lower level of the Gallagher Center. A screening of “Ruby Bridges,” about the first African-American child to integrate a Southern white elementary school, will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 26 in Dunleavy Hall, Room 127. And Bridges will be the keynote speaker at 5 p.m. Jan. 31 in NU’s Russell J. Salvatore Dining Commons.
