A Home Energy Assistance Program outreach session will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday in the CAO Alphonso “Rafi” Greene Jr. Masten Resource Center, 1423 Fillmore Ave.
Households may apply for emergency HEAP benefits and assistance with weatherization or heating equipment repair or replacement. Residents are encouraged to apply even if their bill is current so the HEAP benefit can be applied as a credit to their account.
Applicants should bring identification for all household members, proof of income received within the last 30 days for all household members and a current utility bill. For equipment help, bring two furnace estimates from participating HEAP contractors and proof of home ownership.
For information, contact County Legislator Barbara Miller-Williams’ office at 842-0490 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org, or the HEAP Hotline at 858-7644.
