Bills won't be hiring Mike McCoy as new offensive coordinator

One name to scratch from the possible candidates to become the Buffalo Bills' offensive coordinator is Mike McCoy.

McCoy is out of the running to replace Rick Dennison, The Buffalo News learned Friday night.

Dennison was fired Friday. McCoy, who was fired as offensive coordinator of the Denver Broncos on Nov. 20, was considered the first choice of Bills coach Sean McDermott before McCoy decided to join the Broncos instead.

Why McCoy, former head coach of the then-San Diego Chargers, isn't a candidate now was not immediately known.
