The Sam's Club store and pharmacy at 720 Fairmont Ave. in Jamestown will close later this month.
The store's automated voice messaging service said the store would be closed Thursday but reopen Friday. It did not mention the permanent closure later this month. Employees will remain employed at the store through mid-April and may be eligible for severance pay.
Stores in Henrietta and Greece are also slated to close. Walmart announced on social media that it would close some stores across the country, and shuttered some as early as Thursday.
Customers can use their memberships to shop in other stores, online, or cancel them altogether.
They're among 63 Sam's Club stores across the country slated for closure, according to a list rounded up by Business Insider.
"After a thorough review of our existing portfolio, we’ve decided to close a series of clubs and better align our locations with our strategy. Closing clubs is never easy and we’re committed to working with impacted members and associates through this transition," the company said wrote on its official Twitter page.
