Brazen thieves entered a broken side door at the Buffalo Irish Center while a maintenance man was in the library and made off with a 5-foot-tall black safe and a bright yellow dolly, as well as cash inside the safe and a cash register from the bar area.
About $3,000 from the safe and register was taken, and one cash register was damaged, Buffalo police said.
The thief or thieves entered through a broken side door of the center at 245 Abbott Road around 2 a.m. Saturday.
Police traced the track of the dolly a short distance down Robins Street, where it ended. They were checking security footage from a nearby business.
