Reporters' Notebook: Jan. 8

OLAF FUB SEZ: According to the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, born on this date in 1935, “Truth is like the sun. You can shut it out for a time, but it ain’t goin’ away.”

. . .

In Time ...

I love the crunch snow makes
underneath my boot.
I am here,
CRUNCH

Moving forward,
CRUNCH

One foot in front of another,
CRUNCH

New snow doesn’t crunch,
It glitters and glows,
beautifully falling,

beautifully drifting softly,
to the cold, cold ground.

In Time ...
it will freeze.

In Time ...
it will get crusty.

In Time ...
it will get old.

And In Time ...
And In Time ...
it too will crunch underneath
my boot.
