Deaths Death Notices
SZVOREN - Ronald Passed away far too soon at the age of 65 on Friday, December 29, 2017 after battling cancer for the last year. Ron was born in Buffalo, NY to the late John and Josephine Szvoren. Ron was a proud alum of St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute and Buffalo State University. He spent over 35 years working for Nationwide Insurance, relocating to many regional offices along the East Coast. He was the first to offer help and advice to his relatives, friends, and colleagues and was extremely generous with his time and handyman duties to all. Ron is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy (nee Bogdan); his two daughters, Alison Magstadt (Bryan) and Katherine Fowler (Dusty); brothers, Daniel (Helen) and Paul Szvoren; sister Kathy Keller; brother-in-law, Lawrence Bogdan; sister-in-law, Cynthia Bogdan and many cousins, nephews, nieces, and grandchildren. In recent years, he loved nothing more than being Papa to Thearin, Winnie, Beatrix, and Warren. A very special thanks to the Neurosurgery teams at the University of Florida. Without your valiant efforts, Ron would not have been able to make it as far as he did. The family wishes you the very best of luck in fighting to beat this terrible disease. Services will be held Monday, January 15 at 10 AM at St. Martha Catholic Church, 200 N. Orange Ave., Sarasota, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in Ron's memory to the Winn Dixie Hope Lodge in Gainesville, Florida via www.cancer.org or Tidewell Hospice Ellenton at tidewellhospice.org.
