A public meeting on the planned LaSalle Recreation Way Trail is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday in the LaSalle branch of the Niagara Falls Public Library, 8728 Buffalo Ave.
The trail is part of the city's planned Buffalo Avenue reconstruction project between Cayuga Drive and 102nd Street.
According to state funding documents, the asphalt trail would run parallel to the LaSalle Expressway and a prefabricated pedestrian bridge over Cayuga Creek.
The trail, budgeted at $820,000 when the plan was announced in 2015, is meant to connect with other planned trails along the Niagara River, including a Niagara River Greenway trail through Wheatfield, eventually linking the falls to Gratwick Riverside Park in North Tonawanda. The state approved funding of $410,000 in 2016.
