A 28-year-old hotel worker who had been drinking from a 40-ounce water bottle with vodka was found unconscious but breathing Saturday morning inside a break room at a LaSalle-area hotel, Niagara Falls police said.
Officers were called to the Four Points Sheraton on Buffalo Avenue shortly after 10 a.m. by ambulance crews who were dealing with a reportedly "unruly" intoxicated patient. The victim was refusing to go to the hospital voluntarily, but was eventually transported for an involuntary psychiatric evaluation, according to reports.
The woman, a city resident, was discovered by her boss, unconscious but breathing, inside an employee break room around 10:06 a.m. She told police that she is in counseling for alcohol abuse and has other health issues, and admitted to filling the bottle with vodka before drinking on the job. She reportedly told police that she is going through a divorce and is despondent.
