LOCKPORT – A 49-year-old woman reportedly told police she was just "having fun with her brother" when she swerved into oncoming traffic Wednesday afternoon, resulting in her arrest for driving while intoxicated.
Sheriff's deputies had received complaints of a reckless driver in the Minnick Road area shortly before coming across the suspect at 4:30 p.m. on Crosby Road. They said she drove into oncoming traffic briefly before being pulled over. Theresa L. Kipfer, of Slayton Settlement Road, reportedly told police she had consumed one mixed drink prior to driving, but a Breathalyzer test showed her blood-alcohol level to be 0.24, three times the legal limit.
In addition to aggravated DWI, she was charged with failure to keep right and moving from a lane unsafely.
