TOWN OF LOCKPORT – Deputies thought they had defused a domestic incident at a Dogwood Drive home Wednesday by escorting the husband from the premises, but then they arrested the wife after she reportedly threw a board at them as they were leaving.
Niagara County Sheriff's deputies and state police responded to the home to investigate a complaint that the woman was being belligerent toward her husband. The two had argued over an issue that officers felt would be best resolved in civil court, and the deputies began to leave after convincing the husband to leave the residence for the evening.
As they walked away, however, they said the woman threw a board at them, then attempted to toss a cardboard box in their direction.
Donna L. Weir, 45, was subsequently charged with second-degree harassment.
