Sean McDermott: 'Thank you to the Bengals'

Sean McDermott said some players were holding hands in the locker room as they watched the end of the Bengals' game against Baltimore. Others were praying. Others were crying.

“It’s such an emotional moment," McDermott said afterward. "No one gave this team a chance all year long. Our fans have been great all season long and I’m looking forward to seeing them at our playoff game. ...

“I’m so excited for our players and fans. Everyone has sacrificed so much to be here. Thank you to the Bengals.”

The Bills' Twitter feed formally thanked the Bengals as well.

As he always does, McDermott noted this was his first year and there was still "more work to do," but he lauded his team's mindset.  "This is a mentally tough football team. That's what you saw out there today," he said.
