It’s been 13 years since the last time Buffalo Bills fans watched a Week 17 game with playoff implications for their favorite team.
Most would rather not remember the last such occasion, which happened on Jan. 2, 2005, when the Bills lost a game to a Pittsburgh Steelers team that was playing many of its backups. Buffalo missed out on the postseason as a result.
So it’s understandable that many Bills fans are nervous Sunday, as the team plays the Miami Dolphins with a chance to go to the playoffs for the first time since the 1999 season. Buffalo needs help from either Cincinnati, which was ahead of Baltimore early in that Week 17 game, or both Oakland and Jacksonville, which were in contests with the Chargers and Titans, respectively.
A simple Twitter search for “Bills nervous” yielded plenty of results.
