TOWN OF NIAGARA -- An employee of the JD Calato Manufacturing Company was terminated and then arrested for reportedly stealing three, 60-year-old micrometers from the Hyde Park Boulevard business, town police reported.
The precision measuring devices went missing in April but were recently discovered at a Military Road pawn shop, police said. After they were identified by a business manager, pawn records showed that the devices had been sold for $300 by a man who was employed at Calato.
Police interviewed Eric P. Imerese, 32, of Elliott Drive, Lewiston, who they said eventually admitted to the theft. The charges against him were not specified in police reports.
