BOORADY, Mark A.
BOORADY - Mark A. December 28, 2017, age 60, of Pennellville, passed away after a battle with ocular melanoma on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Upstate University Hospital. Mark was born in Dunkirk, NY and grew up in Tonawanda, NY. He graduated from St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute in Buffalo, NY and furthered his education by completing his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University in 1979. Mark was employed by Groundwater & Environmental Services in East Syracuse as a Senior Engineer. He was also a member of Chi Epsilon - Civil Engineering Honor Society, AWMA, Environmental Breakfast Club of Central NY, CNY APG, Onondaga Audubon Society and ASCE. While working for GES, he obtained his Professional Engineering license. Mark loved laughing and joking, meeting new people, exploring new places, football, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He is predeceased by his father, Frederick Boorady, and his niece, Ellen Kelleher. Surviving to cherish his memory is his companion and wife of 17 years, Dorothy (Castagna) Boorady of Pennellville, NY, mother, Marilyn (Carlson) Boorady of Baldwinsville, NY (formerly of Tonawanda, NY), two daughters, Danielle (Patrick) Schuster of Dunmore, PA, Kayla (Christian) Ricciardi of Staten Island, NY, son, Matthew J. Boorady of Queens, NY, stepdaughter, Sara Biggs of Phoenix, NY, two stepsons, Gregory Biggs and Andrew (Fiona) Biggs both of Liverpool, seven grandchildren: Mark, Anna and Ava Schuster, Francesca and Charles Ricciardi, Anthony and Eva Biggs, two sisters, Cynthia (James) Dixon and Barbara (John) Kelleher, brother, Peter (Linda) Boorady, mother-in-law, Johanna Castagna, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 1 pm at St. Stephen's Church, 469 Main St., Phoenix, NY 13135. Burial will be private. Please consider contributions to The Dorothy Boorady Memorial Account for Mark Boorady. Donations will be made for families in need due to extreme illness.
