Woman, 26, arrested twice in 12 hours

A 26-year-old woman was arrested twice in 12 hours after she stole a car and went on a joy ride Friday but later struck another car, ran into a snow bank and tried to run from officers, police stated in two incident reports.

Brittani O'Sullivan of Thomas Street was being processed at Buffalo Police Central Booking early Saturday, when investigators determined the vehicle she had been driving was stolen earlier in the day, police reported.

O'Sullivan was apprehended by a second team of officers at Central Booking and rearrested on the stolen auto charge, police said.

The spree started Friday when police said she stole keys to a 2012 Nissan Rogue while the vehicle's owner was sleeping. Around 11 p.m., police observed the Nissan with headlights off at West Ferry and Barton streets. When officers tried to pull the car over, O'Sullivan took off at a high rate of speed, striking a parked car on Barton, running a stop sign at Lafayette Avenue and crashing into a snow bank, police said. She then the vehicle but was quickly apprehended, police said.

Officers also found O'Sullivan was driving without a valid license because it was suspended for failure to answer a summons.
