Store clerk accused of false report to police after customer entered with dog

The clerk at a Doat Street food shop called police after a customer brought a dog into the store and refused to leave, police stated in an incident report.

The incident occurred Wednesday afternoon at Alfys II Food Market, 160 Doat, police stated.

When the clerk called 911, he reported the customer had "a gun in one hand and a knife in the other," the report stated. Upon arriving, an officer asked the clerk why he reported something that did not occur.

"The defendant said he did it to get  the police to arrive quicker," the officer stated in the report.

The shop clerk, whose name was not listed on the report, was charged with falsely reporting an incident.
