Northtown Toyota plans to expand its service building and to update its façade in 2018 as part of improvements to the Amherst dealership requested by the auto manufacturer.
Northtown Automotive Cos. has filed a site plan with the town Planning Department for the proposed work on its building at 1135 Millersport Highway.
The expansion would reconfigure the existing floor plan in the service drive building and add 5,350-square-feet of new space to the north side of the dealership, improving traffic flow and making things easier for customers dropping off their vehicles and for the employees working on them, said Harold Erbacher, Northtown's co-owner and chief operating officer.
The dealership also will update its exterior, with a new logo, as part of an update Toyota is doing nationwide.
The Amherst Planning Board is set to review the site plan at its January meeting.
