The U.S., reeling from an upset loss to Slovakia Thursday night, rallied to beat archrival Canada, 4-3, in a shootout in the first outdoor game in the history of hockey's World Junior Championship Friday at New Era Field.
After the game, the reaction was swift from fans of both teams on social media.

#WorldJuniors #WJC2018 Glad we won, but if you had to stop the 3rd period and OT halfway thru for “fairness”, why didn’t goalies switch ends or both stay at the same end for the shootout? @IIHFHockey @usahockey

It's hard to admit but the U.S. looked superior and deserved the win. Enough with the outdoor games though. Hockey isn't like soccer or football and needs good ice and visibility. #worldjuniors2018 #WJC2018
