The ice is ready at New Era Field for the first outdoor game of the World Junior Championship. And while Canada is coming in after a day off, the U.S. is just a few hours removed from a 3-2 loss to Slovakia.
In that loss, forward Logan Brown left with an injury. That, combined with the loss, have the U.S. projected lines juggled.
The top line of Brady Tkachuk-Ryan Poehling-Joey Anderson remains the same, but the other three are different.
Casey Mittelstadt is between Max Jones and Kailer Yamamoto.
Josh Norris is between Kieffer Bellows and Will Lockwood, while Trent Frederic will center Riley Tufte and Patrick Harper.
The defensive pairings remain the same, though it looks like Jake Oettinger will get the start in goal with Jeremy Swayman the backup with Joe Woll, who has started the last two games for the U.S., getting the scratch.
