A number of factors play role in graduation rates at ECC
A number of factors impact the graduation rate of two-year colleges such as Erie Community College. These include the types of curricula offered, entrance requirements, difficulty of course offerings, transfers to other schools and job opportunities in the area.
Historically, ECC enrollment and graduations have demonstrated a negative correlation with local job opportunities. An expanding economy results in lower enrollment and number of graduates.
Positive steps to increase graduation rates will require the offering of curricula where graduation will provide demonstrable potential economic benefits.
