Four people were hurt, at least one critically, in a two-car, head-on collision late Thursday on Union Road in Cheektowaga, Cheektowaga police reported.
The accident occurred shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Union near Maryvale Drive, police said. None of the victims was identified by police, who said the crash occurred when the driver of a 1995 Nissan traveling south on Union crossed the double yellow lines and collided head-on into a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse.
The 24-year-old male driver of the Nissan was listed in critical condition at Erie County Medical Center. An 18-year-old female passenger in his vehicle also was transported to ECMC, where she was listed in good condition.
The driver of the Chevy, a 40-year-old woman, complained of pain while still at the scene of the accident, but elected not to be transported to ECMC, police said. A 71-year-old female passenger in her vehicle was transported to ECMC, but her condition was unavailable Friday.
It was unclear Friday if the accident was weather related. Police did not say whether charges were pending.
