HARTLAND — A Chapman Road woman told sheriff's deputies that her dog sensed suspicious activity just before she discovered that her purse had been stolen off her kitchen table.
The victim reported that around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, the dog began acting as though someone were outside the home. She did not immediately investigate, but a short time later she found a pocket door slightly ajar and her purse missing from the kitchen table. The purse contained about $100 in cash, some credit cards and other personal items.
The woman told police that her granddaughter's boyfriend had stolen from her in the past, and she speculated that he may have been involved in the theft.
