[BN] Blitz newsletter: How likely are the Bills to go after Kirk Cousins or Alex Smith?

Finding a franchise quarterback is an ever-present concern for Bills fans. The News' Jay Skurski was asked in this week's Bills Mailbag about the possibility of bringing in Washington's Kirk Cousins or Kansas City's Alex Smith next year. Here are his replies:

  • On Cousins: "Any team that signs Cousins will have to make a massive financial commitment. The Bills could create the cap space to do that, but it doesn’t strike me as likely."
  • On Smith: "Giving up an asset for Smith also isn’t something I’d be eager to do."
  • On targeting a QB in the draft: "Trading up for a quarterback is the likeliest scenario of the ones mentioned above."

Could we see Brandon Reilly this week? The rookie receiver could dress for his first game after Andre Holmes (neck) was ruled out. Patriots running back Rex Burkhead was also ruled out, increasing the odds former Bill Mike Gillislee will play.

"Epic dodgeball" coming to the Pro Bowl: The skills competition is back, featuring dodgeball and a series of other games, including having receivers catch balls dropped by drones. I'm most excited to see kickers try to play tic-tac-toe in the uprights.
