LEWISTON — Calling all young actors, singers and artists: Enroll now for the 2018 Artpark Theatre Academy and Art Camp sessions. Artpark Theatre Academy is planned for July 9 to Aug. 5 for ages 8 to 17, and four weeklong sessions of Art Camp will begin July 9 for ages 9 to 14.
The Artpark Theatre Academy debuted last year and included a full stage production of “Fiddler on the Roof Jr.” The program provides experience in theater arts and the chance to work alongside industry experts. It is co-directed by Paschal Frisina III and Tony Dentico, with daily workshops led by counselors and appearances by guest artists.
Artpark Theatre Academy will conclude with performances Aug. 4 and 5 of “The Odyssey” by Todd Almond and Lear DeBessonet, directed by Roger Danforth. It will include more than 200 performers — students, professionals and community members.
The academy is open to children will all levels of experience. Cost is $450 per student, if registered by Feb. 15, with a $150 nonrefundable deposit due at registration and balance due by April 2.
Art Camp will be held: July 9-13, July 16-20, July 23-27, and July 30-Aug. 3. Each weeklong session includes workshops in drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture and photography, culminating in an art show. It is suitable for children with all levels of experience. Cost is $250 per one-week session.
