Team USA is getting closer to its roster for the upcoming IIHF Men's World Juniors Championship. The roster now stands at 26 after the team released defenseman Reilly Walsh on Thursday.
Walsh was a third-round pick of the New Jersey Devils in 2017. The 18-year-old is a freshman at Harvard where he has three goals and five assists through 10 games.
The U.S. will likely make its final three cuts after Friday's final exhibition game against Sweden at the Erie (Pa.) Insurance Arena. Final rosters are set at 23. The tournament begins Dec. 26 with the U.S. playing Denmark at 8 p.m. in KeyBank Center.
