Felix Mezquita, of Buffalo, apparently had a late-night Pepsi craving.
Buffalo police responded to the report of a burglary in progress at the Tops Markets on Niagara Street shortly after 2 a.m. Wednesday.
Officers arrived at the store to find Mezquita hanging through a broken front window, according to a police report.
He was trying to take a 12-pack of Pepsi, according to the report.
Mezquita, 62, of Maryland Street, had some small, superficial cuts to his stomach because of the broken glass. Police also found a metal bracket they believe he used to break the glass, the report said.
Police charged Mezquita with third-degree burglary, possession of burglar tools, second-degree criminal mischief and attempted petit larceny.
