David M. Brown, of North Tonawanda, pleaded guilty to two felonies Thursday for injuring his sons. He could go to prison for as long as eight years.
Brown, 24, of Oliver Street, said in Niagara County Court that he picked up his 10-month-old son by the arm July 7 and slapped his girlfriend's nearly 4-year-old in the forehead July 4.
The younger boy suffered a broken arm and leg, and the older child suffered a fractured orbital bone around his eye, Niagara County Assistant District Attorney Lisa M. Baerhe said. The original charges accused Brown of four separate assaults on the children between April 19 and July 11.
Brown is free on $5,000 bail until County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III passes sentence Feb. 26 on two reduced counts of attempted second-degree assault.
