Lockport woman charged with passing heroin to her inmate boyfriend

A City of Lockport woman pleaded not guilty Thursday in Niagara County Court to an indictment accusing her of handing over heroin and tobacco during a visit with her boyfriend.

The man was in the County Jail at the time, awaiting action on federal child pornography charges, according to Assistant District Attorney Peter M. Wydysh.

Miranda J. Riley, 23, of Grand Street, is charged with drug possession and possession of prison contraband. Her live-in boyfriend, Sterling T. Jones, 24, pleaded not guilty to similar charges Tuesday. Wydysh said the incident at the jail allegedly occurred July 5.

The FBI accused Jones of having pornographic photos and videos on his cellphone. Federal court records said the complaint was dismissed last month.
