All showers and toilets are functioning again in all areas of Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and its nursing home, Schoellkopf Health Center.
Hospital spokesman Patrick J. Bradley reported the news Thursday, crediting Swanson Plumbing, the Niagara Falls contractor Memorial hired to try to improve conditions following a water main break in the city late last Friday.
The Niagara Falls Water Board met Thursday to officially award a $292,000 repair contract for the 36-inch main to CATCO of Alden. The work, which involves a connection between a concrete main and a cast iron pipe, is to begin as soon as parts are obtained.
In the meantime, the Water Board said, some customers may notice slightly lower water pressure than normal, especially during peak usage periods.
